Where did the YOG $387 million go?

Given the past fews days of YOG "fever" on the Internet, the question on everyone's mind is where did the $387 million go to?

There were no new stadiums/venues built so what could they have spent it on?

I suspect that most of the $ was spent to get the "athletes" and officals here. The event was unpopular and they probably had to resort to paying for all of the expenses to get the current poor turn out.

As a result of this, it is somewhat dubious all the "athletes" are really athletes. I watched a swimming competition yesterday. There were only 3 kids taking part. All were somewhat chubby and hardly had the physique of olympic swimmers. When the race started, 2 swam as fast as they could. The third gave up half way and appeared to have difficulty completing 50 m !

I am sure that this is replayed across many of the events. Many of the kids here are not serious athletes but rather just children here on all expense paid holiday using OUR $387 million.

The irony is that when they are here, these children are treated like VIPs. Our children on the other hand are made to volunteer and stand in the rain. While these foreign "pian jia" kids get buffet meals, our kids get "dog food".

BTW, anyone noticed that there are so many countries whose names I never came across until the Opening Ceremony ? Are those countries for real, or is it just me that is mountain-turtle ?

PAP dont have accountability. Even the $7million jet trip is way over what it would normally cost.

I won't be surprised if the figure was deliberately increased to create a sense that the games will bigger than they really are. But alas the trick backfired on the PAPies. They were caught off guard by the response from the public which is both apathy towards the game and total disgust at the amount spent.

the one and only main media centre is at Marina Bay Sand. All the IOC and YOG official staying at Ritz Carlton, Ritz Carlton room fully booked. what do you think?

they miw will come up with some exhorbitant & ridiculous spending breakdown, as if it would suffice to justify their pointless extravagance at a later stage for sure la.

charter plane + pilot + custom YOG painting = $7M only
charter buses + bus drivers + custom YOG painting = $XXX only
charter limo taxi + cab drivers + custom YOG decals = $XXX only
NTU hostels + facilities + amenities + daily meals + security = $XXX only
posh hotel + daily meals + security = $XXX only
pontoon opening ceremony + PA mass performers + logistics + fireworks = $XXX only

at the end, they will even boldy claim that the ministars involved were doing it volunteerily & didnt earn a single cent from overtime (which is way overdue based on MOM guidelines)

then soon after, they will pat their own backs on a job well done, and warrant another salary raise in due time.

Actually altho they did not build new stadium, they need to rent convention hall in suntec for some of the sports.... Now remember this not cheap.... Josie pussy cat's AWARE spent 90k just for 3-4 hrs.
