In contrast to the violent criticism from China netizens, Singapore netizens' have been neutral, although some say that she is using Singapore as a springboard to the US.

As reported in my paper, some feel that she is not often in Singapore, so the status of her citizenship is not important. One netizen made the comment that "the pink IC is irrelevant, how she feels about being a Singaporean is more important".

Most think that it's no big deal even though she is a celebrity.

Heard on the net, her decision to adopt Singapore citizenship may be due to three reasons: for love, to take care of ther in-laws, and for career development.

The actress will no longer be a delegate to the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's lower house of Parliament after her citizenship switch.
