Instead of taking a break in Malaysia, Indonesia,... I was thinking of the islands of Spore . Other than Sentosa are there any worth visiting

RSAF used to conduct regular bombing practise on an island named Pulau Pawai??. Has anyone been to this island

Where is this island and how big is it? Where to take a ferry? Can anyone visit

Anyone been to St Johns island. What is it being used for nowadays:confused:

How about Kusu island? Is the temple still there with people making pilgrimages

Well in my younger days my fishing buddies and I used to rent a boat and go out to sea to fish. Sometimes we would bring along our GFs and dock at this little quiet island called pulau hantu. Its very quiet as not much people knows about it and there is a nice jetty where sometimes you find 2 costal patrol boats eatting snake there. That was way back in the earily 90s not sure if its still around. Becareful thou that nice lagoon thou is shallow can be quite deep at the mouth and the undercurrent at the mouth can suck u right out to sea.

Yes the good old days

One had to hire one of those bum boats to visits the outer islands, but are people still able to hire boats  Those bum boats must be facing difficult times. I remember hiring a boat in places like Clifford Pier & Punggol.

Where to go if someone wants to visit the outer island:confused: Other than Sentosa which islands can one visit?

I remember when fishing was popular in Spore. Had a friend who spent alot of time hanging around Five Dots, a shop selling fishing equipment. Even Had people from Australia coming down to Spore to buy fishing gear.

I notice that the fishing ponds are gone from Spore. From the lack of feedback from others in this forum I guess hobbies like going to the beach, fishing, is not popular.

I was actually curious about what was going on in the outer islands. Very strange that although Spore is an island the only place that's reachable is Sentosa.

Thanks, if I want to go to the beach I'll do so in LOS
