What will happen to Tin Pei Ling?
I believe Police investigations will reveal that indeed one "Denise He" had posted the offending illegal remarks on Tin Tin's Facebook on cooling-off day. It is unlikely Tin Tin would lie over this. ( If she did lie, it would be a bigger issue)
The AG would now have to decide if Tin Tin had omitted to declare Denise as her Facebook administrator, and whether such an omission constitutes a "False Declaration", an offence punishable by imprisonment for up to 7 years.
Tin Tin's defence would be that she had no intention to commit the crime, her actions being her inexperience in dealing with such matters. AG will accept her explainations and will reccommend a warning for Tin Tin. PAP leadership will then look out for public reaction before deciding on the next step. If there is a public outcry, PAP will order Tin Tin to resign as Party member, whereupon she would automatically lose her seat as MP. If there is no outcry, it would be business as usual......
No by-elections would be necessary in either case.
Everybody will be happy and the law would have taken its course.
Had Tin Tin not dragged Denise into the matter, she would have been probably fined $500 for violating the cooling-off day restrictions, and would continue to draw her $15,000 per month salary.
QED. NFA. NOD?
The question is - will there be a public outcry, whatever the Ag decides?
