Change date and you won't get marriage cert, says ROM website

An announcement on the Registry of Marriages's website declares that they may withhold a couple's marriage license if they change their appointment date for verifying documents.

Stunned by the website, Ourwonderfulworld wrote:

"It's amazing to note how 'wonderful' and 'user-friendly' our MCYS ROM website has become.

"After filing a notice of marriage, we wanted to change the day we were assigned to verify our documents.

"As per the Marriage Notice photo, you will observe the sentence 'If change is absolutely necessary, please see 'Announcement' at ROM's homepage'

"We followed the instructions and to our surprise, this announcement states 'Strictly by appointment only (please do not change the appointment as otherwise a marriage licence would/may not be granted for solemnisation to take place)'.

"So what if we want to change the date of appointment? We can't get married? What on earth is ROM trying to prove?

"Are they trying to force couples who are getting married into a corner?

"MCYS, please do something about this ridiculous announcement!"
