PM Lee joins Nuclear Summit

PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who is in Washington for the Nuclear Security Summit, joined US President Barack Obama and other heads of state for dinner at the Washington Convention Center on Monday.
Mr Lee was invited by President Obama to join the two-day summit to discuss the threat posed by nuclear terrorism.
The summit has been described as the biggest gathering of world leaders hosted by the US, since 1945. Leaders of 46 countries are attending the summit. Chinese President Hu Jintao and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are among those at the event.
Earlier on Monday, PM Lee met Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke for discussions. He was accompanied by Singapore?s Ambassador to the United States Chan Heng Chee.
PM Lee will meet US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton later on Tuesday and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Wednesday. After the summit, Mr Lee will head to Chicago to deliver a speech at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
The PM is accompanied by his wife Ho Ching and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Environment Agency for the visit.
