Despite losing a few million dollars of taxpayers’ money, the coordinating Chairman of PAP Town Councils Dr Teo Ho Pin remain adamant that the funds were not “mis-managed”.
Minister of National Development Mah Bow Tan said nonchalantly in a media interview that the matter is under the purview of each individual Town Council as if his ministry has nothing to do with it.
The mainstream media has been most proactive in playing down the gravity of the mistake by carry repeated reassurances from the PAP MPs that the Town Councils have sufficient sinking funds in its kitty.
Now, what if it were the two opposition Town Councils - Potong Pasir and Hougang, which lost the sum instead of the PAP Town Councils ?
You can bet there will be a big furore created by the establishment and its mouthpiece.
The big PAP guns will descend to Potong Pasir and Hougang and force the Town Councils to open their account books.
A Commission of Inquiry (COI) comprising of PAP henchmen will be appointed to investigate into the matter.
