One of his readers gave the most insightful analysis I have seen of what these incidents portend: This incident has sparked off comments like yours and your commentators. The seriousness of the situation in its proper context is more than such observations, in my opinion. It exposes the mindset of those in charge of the security of the nation. They talk themselves into believing that everything is under control and that they are prepared for any eventual situation. The recent billion dollar decision to upgrade of the warplanes and expected purchase of the latest military toys give them this illusion. The quality of our uniformed personnel is not what they tell you. The result will be disastrous given the leaders’ penchant for annoying our neighbours.

Should we be afraid, very afraid that S’pore’s home security services appear to be paper tigers. leading to our neighbours thinking that our SAF is also a paper tiger? The performance of two ex-SAF chiefs in SMRT and NOL. PM, DPM Teo, BG Yeo and the three newbie ministers (two SAF generals ansd one admiral), would do nothing to dispel the perception.

of course, our neighbours are probably laughing their ass off looking at our home team. first mas selamat escape and then that MIW came out with a stupid reply that he is either in singapore or out of the country when asked where he is. then traffic jams for 2 years as he proudly claimed his intel tell him he was still in singapore when evidence showed he swam across the causeway within 24 hours of escape. later treid to claim credit when JB police caught him. Now we have a truly psychiatric patient made a fool of them not once but thrice by being able to cross the custom without being stop, worsen by the fact she did it without passport, then roam for 3 days without her car being detected , then sneaked into the MFA!!!!! my gawd. i'm sure she could easily slipped into istana if she wants. all the talk cock and bravado about world class home team and SAF is just crap.. truth is stranger and funnier than fiction. they shoudl make a movie out oif it titled "Minah Selamat,: shadow recruit" sure a blockbuster in South east asia and maybe even pentagon might recruit her

The wayang has resumed at Woodlands. As well as the jams especially on the side where cars are heading towards Spore. Those taking the bus will have their finger prints scanned.

So those planning to overseas should expect delays, again

A woodpecker described him as being a "very capable ministar".
This same old birdie also referred to a certain family as being "exceptional".:rolleyes:

If you marry the right woman of the right family, and stick your dicky into the right CB, you too can instantly transform into an exceptional being. ;)

When things goes wrong, PAP just flip a coin to decide who's to blame, heads they win, tail we lose.

Cock-up is a sign of weak leadership and so far we have not seen much accountability. The gov't not giving much confidence they can deal with transport issues. Just cock and bull stories which anyone can say, no need multi-million dollar ministers. I am very concerned how long my daughter has to wait for bus while she starts new school next week. We don't need to hear bullshit excuses. We want to hear what has been done to solve the problems. Not dump so much money, then make the commuters pay for sub-standard service. If the guy can't fix it, change him or even change the whole team. MTR/SBS is public service and not just generate massive income for rich people. I like to see some heads roll if things don't improve, then at least I can respect them a little.
