Man sought over cheating case

POLICE are looking for this man in the the photo to assist with investigations into a cheating case.

The incident occurred at Beach Road on April 1.

The man is believed to be a foreigner in his forties. He is described to be about 1.8 metres tall, of a medium build, with a tanned complexion.

He was last seen wearing metal-rimmed spectacles, a light-coloured long-sleeves shirt and dark-coloured trousers.

Any person with information on this man can call the Police Hotline at 1800-2550000.

Pretty good-looking old man with a benign touch, from appearances. Too bad his hair let him down at his age.

He sold 5 pieces of genuine diamonds for $30K to 2 brothers. After the buyers made payment...... he switched the real diamonds with fake ones and quickly made his getaway before the brothers realised the switch.

The real diamonds first disappeared, then he also disappeared.

So he's more of an illusionist.

Probably the two brothers who had good Chinese friends realised that they shouldn't take the diamonds as they were strangely round in shape, but they recalled the Chinese advice too late.

The suspect went with the 2 brothers to the jewellery shop where the diamonds were checked and confirmed to be genuine....... they then proceeded to the bank to withdraw the cash and kenna cheated there. :(

Isn't it a bit unsafe to buy diamonds from lone traders like this? rather buy it from a jewellery shop.
