STOMPers all over Singapore were treated to the sight of a partial lunar eclipse last night (June 26), and sent in pictures of the rare astronomical event.

The partial lunar eclipse lasted about three hours. During the eclipse, over half the moon was covered by the Earth's shadow. This is the only lunar eclipse visible in the eastern hemisphere this year and its maximum coverage happened at about 7.30pm.

In an email today SR wrote:

"I was on top of the Marina Bay Sands Skypark to catch the exciting panoramic view of Singapore.

"Coincidently, I was also treated to a view of the eclipse and I took some photos of it at about 7.10pm and beyond.

"I hope you do like it!"

STOMPer Jakob Keller also sent in pictures. He wrote:

"These are pictures of yesterday's partial lunar eclipse. The photos were taken from my balcony."
