I am not referring to the videos as the links are dead. I am speaking in general.
The government delivers a whole range of services to us - education, housing, transport, infrastructure, law and order, utilities, employment, healthcare, amenities, etc. Democracy simply means we have a say in how the services are delivered to us or "government by the people".
Claiming that democracy is not important is an insult.
We, the electorate, are getting more well-educated. We are also more matured and hence more demanding, not just in quality of services but in accountability. Undesirable elements are doing us in by trying to slow things as they cannot catch up intellectually. They still think governing is shaking hands, spouting one-liner or a show like in the past. They think the bureaucracy should be running the country. Such people are irrelevant and must be sidelined.
Opposing is really a contest of ideas to improve the government and the country. Opposing is the norm in all countries including communist ones. Every country aspires to progress. Proposing inane alternatives with the assumption that they won't be adopted is pulling wool over our eyes.
