COnsidering that we have a large number of FTs and large number of MNCs here, we should be using our GNI instead of GDP to gauge how well we are doing as a country.

Is there a way to find out more on our GNI?

Chao, your GNI are you referring to Gross National Income?
For a moment, I thought you are referring to GINI - some indicator of Income Gap I think.

If it is, then it's not the commonly used acronym for Gross National Income.

Even pardon my fading memory of Econs 101, isn't GNP the same technically?

GNP vs GDP in our case, then GNP would be value of all our Sporean Enterprises' Goods & Services, produced here AND abroad.

GNP will spotlight the performance of our 'External Wing' - both of our private sector & hybrids like Temasek, GIC & GLC overseas subsidiaries.

GNI is the proper acronym for Gross National Income AFAIK.

The motivation here is to come up with a natinal accounts figure that better reflects the income earned by Singaporeans. This figure can then be used by the PAPies to discern their performance and then their salary. I don't condone thir practice but the point I am making is that with such a large percentage of the population being FTs and even PRs PLUS white-collar FTs actually have a higher median income than their Singapore counterpart due to many of them working in MNCs and even our GLCs at mid to high level management positions.

Other than to debunk the motivation of the PAPies and to show their greed in using a spurious figure to their advantage, we should pay close attention to our GNI because even when the PAPies are no longre in power, we will still have a significant number of FTs in the near future and of course the GINI too.
