The Meteorological Department on Tuesday morning issued a warning for people in the East and eastern parts of the South to prepare for widespread scattered rain with heavy falls in some areas, the danger of floods and forest-runoff today and the next few days.
The department said the southwest monsoon still prevails over Thailand, the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. This will cause widespread scattered rain in all regions and heavy rain in the East and eastern parts of the South.
People living near hillsides and waterways in Trat, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket and Krabi should prepare for heavy rain, possible flash floods and forest-runoff during this period, it warned.
