A FORMER warehouse assistant was jailed for a year for selling $75,300 worth of metal parts on the sly on 86 occasions. A district court heard on Monday that Ahmad Mohd Zawawi, 37, was thenworking for Carrier Transicold - a transport refrigeration company. His accomplice, Hau Seh Pooi, 37, (correct) who was a deliveryman for another firm, was jailed for two years last September. The metal parts were to be sold off to a scrap collector designated by the company. But Ahmad could pack these parts and load it into Hau's lorry to be sold elsewhere. On occasions, the conspirators received more than $2,000 for a single load and Ahmad's cut would be $150. In the dock on Monday with Ahmad was Mok Kwong Heng, who also committed criminal breach of trust. As a sales executive at Ben Tradevine Wines and Spirits. the 47-year-old pocketed some $33,300 between November 2005 and May 2007. Sentencing was adjourned till next month for Mok to finalise his divorce.
