U.S. Navy Prepares To Declare F-35 Combat-Ready In 2019
29 Mar 2018 Lara Seligman

"The U.S. Navy is gearing up to declare its F-35C carrier variant ready for war in 2019, the director of the F-35C integration office told Aerospace DAILY in his first interview in the role. But the Navy won’t give the Joint Strike Fighter the green light until it successfully demonstrates its full warfighting software, 3F, during the final test period, initial operational test and evaluation (IOT&E), Rear Adm. Dale Horan said March 29 at the Pentagon.

The Navy has set a goal of declaring initial operating capability (IOC) for Lockheed Martin’s new fighter between August 2018 and February 2019, so the service can sign off early next year and still be within that window.... [many BUTS]

...“IOC is capability and event-driven, it’s not date-driven,” Horan said. “We think probably next year, sometime in 2019, but we are not wedded to the dates.”

However, he stressed that he sees no “showstoppers” in reaching the milestone.

The Navy’s F-35 enterprise is laser-focused in 2018 on preparing for IOC. The “Rough Raiders” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 125, the “Grim Reapers” of VFA-101, and Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 9 recently completed carrier qualifications (CQ) on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which Horan said “went very well” despite bad weather.

“The deck was pitching, and pretty low ceilings, and some varsity conditions, we call it,” Horan said. “But the airplane was really stable coming aboard the ship, the pilots were really comfortable with the airplane.”

It is absolutely rubbish expensive and useless. Until now their thousands of technical problems still not solved. Even if it lived up to specifications perfectly, their inferiority is still clearly seen it is by specification poorer performance aircraft by speed, by range, by ceiling altitude, by payload, compared to F/A-18 F-15 etc. It has a single engine, vs 2 engines in all key fighters. Especially the F-35B model compromised performance even further to take off from tiny boats. F-35 don't have any 3D vector jet, F-22 at least have 2D vector jet, All the Russian & Chinese are coming with 3D vector jets.

Chinese AWACs can see all the F-35 from a distance greater than any US missiles can shoot PLA AWAC, Chinese missiles can shoot any USAF AWAC or F-22 or F-35 or B1 or B2 from more than twice distance of USAF missiles. They are only dead meat by specifications. Can be seen before they can fight, can be killed before they can fight. All we need is war to start full scale ASAP, they will be wiped out and the US military cemeteries will run out of space.

US will lose the war with such shit equipment. If they spent half the amount on upgrading the F15s and F16s and continue with F22 modifications the ah tiongs would have been fucked

Expensive useless junk F-35 even within the hands of Jews bastard IDF also got shot by 50 years old S-200 missile. Still got idiots thinking highly of them? WAF laughing stock! Dotard can still sell them to suckers? hurry cancel orders and demand refunds in full!
