A WANTED man has been accused of ramming a stationary police car with his Honda in a bid to evade arrest - only to crash into a road sign.
The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty, as well as other crimes including drug-related offences and loan-sharking activities, police said on Friday.
A 26-year-old woman, who was in the suspect's car, was arrested for similar offences.
The alleged incident occurred on Thursday at about 10pm, when police were on patrol near Block 25 Jalan Berseh.
They spotted the suspect's car parked at the foot of the block of flats and checked on the driver.
But the man, wanted for his suspected involvement in an armed robbery that took place in November last year, is said to have tried to evade the police by speeding off.
