Case 1:

Yang and Hong vs Peasantpore Bapoks.
It seems that Yang and Hong have problems with female peasants going at each other without penetrative sex. With crazed Thio, they managed to hijack a NGO to pursue their clandestine affair of punishing bapoks who somehow depends on that 'taken' NGO for some assistance. They were largely ignored by the regime until the bapoks took to arms with liberal peasants drawn into the fray. Finally WKS got into the game and kindly requested the anglican head honcho to 'order' Yang and Hong back to the pulpit.

Case 2:
Ronny vs Asian far east Pagans
Ronny had free publicity and free tea (thank you ISD) for his 'O' level understanding of comparative religion.

Does two case imply the regime have higher tolerance for pastors who have the problems of opening their mouths at the wrong time in front of the wrong audience. It may appear so, the regime were less pleased with three school boys for there foolish comments but appear to give pastors some leeway despite their non-rational rumblings at certain junctions. If it involves moslems, then the dynamics changed.

Case 3:
Ong Kian Cheong & Dorothy Chan Hien Leng vs Regime
Ong and Chan were two idiots and not pastors but deserved to be called idiots for sending offending materials to moslems. Given that Peasantpore is surrounded by Moslems and not bapoks, buddhists or taoists, the last group that you want to antagonize are moslems. This the primary reason why Ong and Chan must be taught a lesson in common sense by the regime.

Some religions are more tolerant than others. You see lots of HK movies ridiculing Buddhism or Taoism - Jackie Chan's Drunken MONK series, Shaolin MONKS, etc. You even hear a succulent meaty dish about the monk jumping over the wall. Nobody ever protests - from Tibetan monastries to Japanese monastries. Life goes on.

But if you ever just show a single picture of a deity of another belief or worse ridicule it - you are simply creating hell.

Since ancient times, Religion has been a headache that kills. Who the hell invented religions?

The minimum requirement is: Religious Tolerance & not belittling us, Buddhism is asking for...

We have forgiven Pastor Tan., I wish him well, healthy & be happy!

Even I have sent a polite personal email expressing saddness & disappointment, there no personal apology or word of courtesty reply from Lighthouse via email, since the saga..

We have moved on & always willing to let go.. & case closed..

normally when christians are being persecuted, the spread of Christianity accelerates...people will be asking why....many will end up interested...:D

While Buddhism is certainly a very tolerant religion, it's weired to say lots of HK movies ridiculing Buddhism or Taoism. Those movie that u quote is simply to highlight that Buddhism by itself is a very lively and approachable religion to commoner. The Buddhism's teaching simply is applicable to every aspect of the daily life.

In fact, many of Hollywood movies has also been touching on the Buddhism.

If you were to look at it properly, HK movies, plus most of their actors are all big fan of Buddhism. This also includes Japan, Korea and Thailand who are all Buddhist country. You can notice most of the time, the kind of ghost story that are produced in these countries movie makers, always evolves around karma and reincarnation.

Personally I enjoy watching ghost story produced from these countries. Cos I strongly believe in Karma and reincarnation and the rule of the nature. Whenever you see these movies, plus the good actor and the good acting, you can feel the belief in your blood. And it's a joy to do so.
