Is there any other country in the world that has walkovers in a General Elections?
39/84 (46%) of our Parliament is made up of walkover MPs.
Did any Singaporean vote for anyone of them?
Do they morally have the right to rule Singapore if nobody voted for them?
Significantly, we also have 9/21 (43%) walkover Ministers/SMs/MM in the Cabinet.

What's the name of that slut MP that married an AngMoh? She was from M'sia, and all the while hiding under the Tampines umbrella. If she contest in the open she sure got no chance for a seat.

Yet today she got to blurt nonsense like racist voting and ensure minority race can win seat in parliament. I bet she who was a Chinese dun even ein one seat if she contest election alone!:oIo:

That explains the arrogance of josephine teo who keeps talking down to peasants! That Suzhou loser has the gall to support the 'tax the poor' scam!!!

TeeKee, even if PAP wins 100% (if) of the votes in any seat, the chumps in this forum still insists that PAP has no right to rule!

So why bother to ask this question?

The days of JB Jeya, Ahmad Mattar, Devan Nair, EW Barker, Rajarathanam where they could hold their own ground and win decisively against any politician is long gone.

Today in ethnocentric Singapore, Ministers like Balakrishnan and Tharman have to be shooed in via the back door. If they went up against a Chink opposition candidate and any Chink will do, they will probably lose their deposits.

historically, before GRC, only these few non-chinese became MPs,,,,, must be like malaysia, bumi law la,,,,

Just cancel voting...and let them appoint oppositions, and so forth. It is like two debating teams, where both sides are from the same school or organization, but wearing different attire, & given different topics.

More like 'chicken & duck talk'....wake up SINgaporeans!!!:p

Hey, that's a great idea! But I think we can still vote for things like the best speaker, best quote, best rebuttal, etc.

Uniquely Singapore again!

There's no need for elections in Sinkapore. Since when was the last time we hold a by-election? As for General Elections, the results are always the same! Low for Hougang, Chiam for Potong Pasir, the rest for u-know who! So might as well abolish elections! waste of money and time. Uniquely Sinkapore!:D

What rubbish.

Oppos too chicken to contest them then say they have no mandate?

Only from SBF forumers will we hear this kind of BS.

the worse kinds are those who lost in the elections, but later got in by the back door...

like Heng Chee How and Mabo Tan..

contest simi sai?

u put the great wall of china in front of them...

how to contest?

Actually I think its quite unfair to blame walkover MPs for walkover. If I go into a tournament and I'm the only one taking part hence by default I become the champ, I shouldn't be blamed for no one wanting to compete.

Need to refresh my memory, who did Mabo Tan loss to. In which case the guy is useless, the only reason why he's still there is because PAP needs scapegoats. Whenever something goes wrong, they just transfer MB Tan to that ministry to get the blame. We all know he will screw up one way or anyther anyway
