Dear AsiaOne RELAX It is good that RWS beats Marina Sand to the starting line to be the 1st IR with casino to open for business. It is important that this venture makes lots of money as Singapore has gambled (no punt intended) on having casinos within IRs to bring Singapore into the next stage of economic prosperity. And, of course, create a lot of high paying (for Singaporeans and PRs) and some low paying jobs (for FWs and FTs (?)). It will be interesting to find out from RWS the following: 1. how many Singaporeans and how many non-Singaporeans visited the Casino on the 1st 3 days of the CNY?; 2. how many COMPLAINTS and COMPLIMENTS did RWS received during the same period?; 3. is the management happy with the Objectives of the soft-opening to test the efficiency and effectiveness of the Casino's operations? Never mind the teething problems. Its the long term problems.. like will it survive? Meantime is it not interesting that only some years before MM said, NEVER to a casino here. Did he not say, "Over my dead body." Well, MM is still around and soon we will have not one but two casinos. My, my, how times have changed. And why was letting off firecrackers allowed when the poor sod in Hougang cant even celebrate New Year by firing off a few crackers on his void deck.
