VPOST - Exorbitant shipping charges

Was thinking of buying something from VPOST and did a little research. OMG this is a freaking 黑店!

They are charging up to 8 times what the cost should be

Not just that, bulk item deliveries took ages to reach and charges was very exorbitant too...

To be honest, FedEx and Others are better and reliable...

VPOST is acting like a middle man, they will make US$ payment and have a US address for the orders, then forward to a Spore address.

You don't need to use VPOST If you have a credit card & can find US companies willing to accept international orders.

That time I was served by an Indian staff from India and when asked her about sending bulk items oversea, she appeared unsure of the procedures...

FT everywhere... Haiz... and I realise I can't really comprehend what those Hospital staff, M1 1627, Singtel 1626 FT Customer Service Officers trying to tell me!!!

In the end lots of miscommunication.

If you send your queries by email it will give them time to check with their managers on their procedures.

You can usually get a feel about the company from the FAQ they have posted, how quicly they respond to customer queries, how they answer,..

I usually order from those companies that have experience serving International customers e.g. Amazon, iHerb,.. Haven't had any problem so far

Initially wanted to use vpost to buy stuff from us online sites that only ship to within us. After much research, I used myusabox.com instead because it is much much much cheaper & more user friendly than SinkPost vPost.

Looking at myusabox & it seems expensive even for the basic plan. Setup cost of $35 + additional shipping costs over 1 lb.

Just curious how much do you save over Singpost

i tried viaddress. one of the newer companies la. better than borderlinx.. satisfied with their service... i used them for amazon goods lah. their website is at viaddress.com. they got comparison chart for u to compare the diff company prices.

I am a Vpost customer and have used their services a few times. I had very bad experiences with them. Once, they sent the item to my house and it happened that no one was around, so they left and brought the package back to their despatch centre at Paya Lebar for me to collect myself or to call them next day to request for a transfer of package to another convenient POST OFFICE for collection later. I stay in WEST and the nearest POST OFFICE is in Jurong Point Shopping centre. I blasted them for doing things that did not make sense at all. They should just leave the package at nearest Post Office, for my case Jurong Point Post Office, which was a mere 5 minutes walk away. The package was light and small and did not require special storage like freezer etc... Darn disappointed!

It's more expensive depending on what you are buying. I've purchased software & the only shipping method available is by the most expensive method, Priority Courier. Cost of software can be cheaper if you buy in Spore.

While ordering books from Amazon you can select the cheapest shipping method, standard shipping. Using standard shipping the price can be cheaper than buying from a local Spore bookstore.

For example the standard rate is only $4.99 per shipment plus $4.99/item. The books I buy usually cost over SIN$100+ each which is more expensive than the price in the US with shipping.
