Voting

In another forum, the members there are getting together to decide who they should all vote for. Since there are 4 horses running, we should not dilute the votes to allow TT to win, therefore we all should back only one.

I see disparate views and choices but most are not taken in by the PAP's choice. Since the government will be supporting TT, why don;t we put our heads together and vote for one. Whoever has our majority of votes, the rest should support whether it is their first or last choice.

If we do not, then PAP has really split the people and TT will win.

I agree too. I too doesnt know who to vote for. But i know for sure my vote is not going to TT. Lets see which candidate this forum going to "endorse". Then i am going to vote for him too. And i will also help to spread the "endorsement" around.

very hard for me to vote TCB since no tell tale signs that voting for him has a chance of preventing that undesirable outcome.

I by now is also 90% TCB. I don't think creating a vote in this forum will be fair. Too many clones can tilt the voting. I suggest we say why we think we should endorse a candidate over the others so everyone can see agree or not. No flaming please.

I will not vote for TT.

And as each day goes by, probably not for TCB as well. He is still a PAP man to me. I have never agreed with the majority of the policies of the ruling party. I would not have voted for him as a MP (if I was staying in Ayer Rajah) either all those years. A noisy MP he may be, but compliant for 26years in the end..... And therefore will continue being so as President.

So, its either TKL or TSJ.

Ok I explain why I vote TCB.

TT - He is damaged by the revelations over his son's 12 year NS disruption plus scientist posting. Further damage by the old newspaper articles that he was against building the MRT, then got angry that OTC approved the strike to stop the exploitations the employers were doing to the employees. All these make me opine that he is not fair, has no foresight and does not have heart for the common people. This is not the type of person I want for President.

TKL - He damage himself too much. He always "some people say". I want my President to have his own mind. Otherwise it is worrying who he will listen to when he is President. Like this how to be "independent" when always "some people say"? I try to picture him receiving Obama/Queen Elizabeth visit. The picture frightens me.

TJS - He is a good man. I would have voted for him if not comparing to TCB. He does not have a track record for me to assess. He came out only during the erections just pass. But he protraying himself as a opposition man and saying that his agenda is to raise opposition profile make me suspect he sincere to run for President or not. I worry this is just a publicity stunt by him or SDP. I don't want a opportunist President or someone who may unwittingly be used by SDP for publicity.

TCB - This is also a good man. His track record of speaking up for the common man even against his own party earns my respect. His track record make me believe that he got spine and will not back down when we are insulted but provide us with a figure to rally around and push through the obstacle. His message is simple, he wants to provide unity for the people. I like that. He has led many delegations overseas, he can easily handle other Head of State and diplomatic relations. Only TT can match him in the diplomatic part. Only TJS can match him for the metal spine part.


I vote TCB.

TJS has my vote - the most independent of the candidates, good heart, sincere, strong moral convictions, the courage to speak up for all singaporeans.

TCB and TT are too closely linked to the PAP.

TKL - he was silent as a PAP cadre member for 30 years... are things going to change now?

Only TJS was brave enough to go against the PAP openly as an opposition candidate in the last GE.

The Pro-PAP votes would therefore be SPLIT between TT, TCB and TKL. The hardcore anti-PAP voters would go for TJS and therefore he would be getting the more votes than TCB.

One should not vote TCB simply because one feels that he has the better chance of winning. Rather one should vote the candidate that is MOST LIKELY to be brave enough with BALLS of STEEL without any emotional ties or baggage to the PAP so as to effectively keep tabs on the PAP without FEAR or FAVOUR.

TCB went against LKY in Parliament, twice. TCB went against George Yeo in Parliament. TCB went against GKS in Parliament. If those balls are not made of steel, I don't know what who else has steel balls.

TJS was secretary to GCK. He and TT should had more information than TCB on the operation Coldstraw. He did nothing. He is out of civil service for how long? He did nothing. He is now running for President and he did what? Nothing. He did not even talk about it.
