A man, who claimed to be a scrutineer at the counting station, revealed over the internet the process of checking ballots. He illustrated 12 types of votes and said 10 of which appeared to be spoilt votes were actually valid.

For instance, he said that ballot papers written with complaints against political parties or with protests over the rising cost of living, were ruled by the Table chief as valid votes.

The man claimed that he was called by a party at 4pm on polling day to volunteer as a scrutineer.

He said the People’s Action Party and the Opposition each had 6 scrutineers assigned at his station. There were six tables in the station, each responsible for three to four boxes, or about 4,000 votes.

Each table has a Table chief, four tellers, with one scrutineer from each political party.

Don't be silly. Election committee, or rather the whole election process is dominated by resource rich PAP. It does not take a genius to guess if there is any ambiguity in vote count, it obviously will be in favor of the ruling party. The example about a tick and a cross whereby vote is counted for the cross is obviously a wrong decision if you think about the possible intent of the voter, but given that markings are made in both boxes, that has to be ruled as spoilt. Counting the "go to hell" votes in favor of PAP is even more ludicrous, i would imagine a high number of voters cursing PAP. Obviously the voter intends to spoil the vote.

"For every “go to hell” ballot there were at least fifty more with the faintest of scratches, as in example 12"... a bit hard to believe the faint markings are like example 12 and the table chief still gives it to Opposition. Anyway this is a single observation from one faggot.

The only thing one can conclude is the counting is blahdy lenient. I suppose they need to cater to the high % of stupid voters.
