Boy injured after foot gets caught in escalator at VivoCity

SINGAPORE : A 10-year-old boy has been injured after his foot was caught in an escalator at VivoCity.

The incident took place at about 12.45pm on Sunday.

The boy was travelling on the escalator with his parents when the shoe on his right foot got caught in the escalator.

Staff at VivoCity managed to release his foot from the escalator and the boy was sent to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) for treatment.

An SGH spokesperson said the boy received treatment for cuts and his condition is stable.

So many kids run amok the shopping centres, and this kid had to be the one-in-a-million to get caught.

Is it really the shopping centre's fault? No.
Could it be the boy was too mischievous? Possibly.

I have personally wondered about this, and tried to get my foot stuck on the escalators by kicking the sides of the escalators while standing on it.

But I wasn't able to get my foot stuck, sad to say. So, only the kid themselves know how mischievous they were and what they did to get their feet stuck.
