Not that I disagree with Vivian, but it raises eyebrows especially when Khaw had just blogged to boast about the wonderful medical care he had received while spending time recuperating from his bypass surgery. Furthermore, it makes me wonder why a MCYS minister is taking pot shots at healthcare when his own portfolio is constantly under fire for its incompetencies in managing the social welfare of its citizens. Could the MCYS minister be eyeing for Khaw's portfolio?

Singapore Faces Problems in Emergency Care
Submitted by Rasik Sharma on Wed, 06/09/2010

Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Community Development, Youth and Sports Minister, revealed that Singapore continues to develop the specialty, as it aims to tackle the challenges pertaining to the area of emergency care. He inaugurated the International Conference on Emergency Medicine in Singapore. He shared that sometimes patients requiring inpatient care have to keep waiting for a bed.

Public hospitals are being afflicted by this problem in Singapore. Responsiveness is another problem which needs to be tackled. Medical emergencies usually occur at home, at the workplace and in public places and on the roads and highways.

In these cases, the first line of care is initiated by the family members, neighbours, co- workers and passers-by. He requested them that the initial care of the ten most common emergencies should be addressed and the community should be educated with important skills like cardiopulmonary resuscitation and using automated external defibrillator.

Minister Balakrishnan said, “As societies change and age, there will be constant developments in many areas of emergency care such as observation medicine, airway management, emergency care given to children, patient safety, emergencies that occur in the elderly, medico-legal issues, and the list goes on”.

It's strange and out of conventional cabinet protocol. A minister shouldn't comment on the management another minister's portfolio in public. Such inter-ministerial matters should be discussed in cabinet meetings.

Vivian Balakrishnan was CEO of SGH before he entered politics. It's not surprising that he's interested to be the next Minister for Health, given the state of health of the current Minister Khaw Boon Wan.

nothing new ... typical ... ownself tings cunt do, do oso cunt do properly ... go ard n stir sh*t ... :o

Very funny le. Everytime heard that patient have to wait for the bed after operation and become very normal(KNN of course must FUCK Mr. COW). Maybe should be more efficient.
1. Make sure doctor visit the patient before 10am for any follow up so the patient can check out ASAP to let the new patient in.
2. Another group the clean up the bed and room ASAP patient leave/check out.
I think my ideas are better than million $$$minister Cow

which vivian?
geylang pros gives khaw a warm tea blow with sambal chilli ?

Internal conflict within PAP is of course normal

You think Vivian is happy at $2 million a year? Maybe he wants $3 million so he needs to fix someone to get higher positions

No, I can understand why. He was asked to inaugurate the Conference which opened at Suntec. As usual, he would have been fed some talking points and perhaps a speech prepared by his Ministry in consultation with the Conference organisers.
