Villager finds newborn’s body while digging
SHAH ALAM: A villager digging at a reserve land at Kampung Baru Hicom near the Klang river was shocked to find a polystyrene bag containing the body of a baby. Harun Sungep, 25, said he suspected something was amiss when he noticed that the bag, which was partly buried in the ground, surrounded by flies. “I was shocked when I noticed a baby’s hand sticking out of the bag after opening it,” he told reporters at the scene yesterday, adding that he immediately informed his brother-in-law of his find before returning to excavate the bag. Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Noor Azam Jamaludin said initial investigations revealed that the baby had been dead for about four days and urged those with information to contact police at 03-5510 2220.
