There’s been a lot of cases where customers had traumatic experiences with their e-hailing drivers. Previously, a customer recalled having to switch places with his driver as he was having a sudden meltdown. Prior to that, a woman was shocked to discover that her driver was not even wearing pants after they reached her destination.
We can only imagine the fear and trauma of this customer when she found out that her e-hailing driver was touching himself throughout the journey. Watch the disturbing video (at your own risk) below:
Earlier today (Friday, 26th May), a netizen who goes by @sehar_luqman posted a video that her best friend filmed while she was taking an inDriver ride to her destination. The 10-second unsettling video showed the driver apparently masturbating with his right hand while the left was on the wheel.
“DISGUSTING!!!!! We are literally so done with [these] men. My best friend booked inDriver and the man did this and was constantly looking at her; she felt so helpless at that time,” the netizen wrote. It was not specified when the incident took place but we can assume it was fairly recent. The Twitter user also did not update whether or not her friend has filed a report against the driver for his inappropriate actions.
The tweet quickly went viral and sparked outrage among netizens. Many tagged the inDrive official Twitter account, urging them to take action against the driver. The company apologised to the passenger for the horrible experience and asked for more details about the ride for them to carry out an investigation.
For your information, it was previously reported that inDriver is not a legal e-hailing service in Malaysia as it has been operating with an expired license. With this information in mind, there’s no guarantee that any action will be taken against the offender.
At the time of writing, there has been no update from @sehar_luqman nor inDrive regarding the incident.
