When I was 7yo, I heard screams from the back alley of my house and found our dog contorted on the ground, steam coming off of her body. Ran to my dad and told him that she was sick and wet. Apparently someone living in a home sharing our back alley hated dogs, lured her w/a cookie, poured a pot of boiling water on her. I saw my dad picking her up bringing her back, then running back to the neighbor, hammer in hand. Cops came, restrained him while he was kicking the door. That neighbor called the police, in fear for her life. She moved a few months later. Took over a year for our dog to heal, surgeries, large burn scars, but she survived. My dad was a gr8 man.
