A Yakut soldier from the 39th Russian Brigade, Andrei Grigoriev, recounted how he won a knife fight with a Ukrainian soldier, using a traditional Yakut knife, stabbing his enemy in the neck, after which the enemy soldier begged to be let to die, and he did so.
He said that to end the Ukrainian soldier's suffering, he placed a grenade with the pin pulled under his bulletproof vest and then added a mercy bullet before retreating.
The Yakut people are related to the Mongols. They are very strong and skilled in combat.
