Yes, Jean-Claude Van Damme really did the "Epic Split" between two moving Volvo trucks in a commercial for Volvo. The stunt was filmed in Spain and was designed to showcase Volvo's Dynamic Steering system.

How it was done:
  • Van Damme was equipped with a hidden safety harness and wire

  • Small platforms were attached to each truck behind the wing mirrors to support Van Damme's feet

  • The trucks drove in reverse at a fixed speed of 16 mph

  • The stunt was filmed in one take
