For those that dont know this is based on the true and cruel story of Louis Zamperini he was an Olympic athlete during the berlin Olympics. Enlisted in Army Air corps during WWII, he became an offier very shortly. He was a bombardier (Bomb Operator to manually mark the target for bombs and sometimes guide them. This clip is an example of one of the instances in which he was singled out due to his fame. A true warrior. Along with the thousands of men held captive and tortured by the Japanese Empire.

I was an extra in this movie, and this particular scene was filmed on Cockatoo Island in Sydney, Australia. I remember picking up that piece of wood he’s holding when we were heading to a break and to my surprise it was actually made of foam extremely light. Watching him handle it as if it were heavy was impressive he’s a really good actor. Jack O’Connell’s career keeps growing every year and I have a lot of respect for his talent.
One funny moment.. I accidentally wandered into their break room thinking extras were allowed in there too. I ended up chatting with him for a bit before one of the crew members in charge of the extras realized and kicked me out. Definitely a memorable experience!
