it's interesting to note that some of the cats and dog may have comprehended the reflection concept. because they looked at the phone and then back at their owners

This is huge... Do you realise this means cats and dogs are able to recognise themselves on screen? And they're aware of their surroundings on screen as well, which is why they turn to look confused to see if the cat filter is part of real life or if it's just part of the reflection they're seeing on the phone.
