Victim sent to hospital by concerned assailant
A DISCIPLINE teacher was beaten up by a group of youths and then left in his car unconscious outside the emergency unit of a hospital in Terengganu, Kosmo! reported. The incident occurred at about 11.30pm on Thursday after the 30-year-old teacher, who was driving back to his home in Balik Bukit, Permaisuri from a tuition class was blocked by two other cars.
Four men, said to be in their 20s, rushed out and dragged the teacher into a nearby bush where they attacked him until he passed out. However, as they fled from the scene, one of the assailants — probably out of concern — returned to pick up the teacher in his own car. The man then drove to the Setiu Hospital, where he abandoned the teacher and the car outside the emergency unit.
Setiu OCPD Deputy Supt Shaikh Osman Abd Hamid said hospital personnel, sensing something amiss when they saw the car, found the bruised victim unconscious. He was treated and discharged the same night. DSP Shaikh Osman said the assailants were suspected to be unhappy with the ways of the discipline teacher, who worked in a secondary school in Setiu. The teacher told police that he did not recognise his attackers because it was dark, but believed they could be related to students of his school.
