Vice ring rewards regular clients
A VICE ring operating in Johor Baru offers customers one free “service” after every eight visits, China Press reported on its front page yesterday. The daily said the “promotion” had attracted men, including young adults, to frequent the premises run by the syndicate.
The syndicate also sends SMSes to its regular customers to update them on their various deals, including promotions and arrival of “new stock”, women who are mostly in their 20s from China and Thailand. It also claimed that the police had been bought over and customers could have a good time without worrying that the premises would be raided.
The newspaper reported that charges ranged between RM150 and RM180 each session. A customer would have to make his first visit before he is entitled to a card to record the number of visits. The card would be stamped after each visit.
When the reporter contacted the syndicate, it was discovered that the services were only offered to regulars and new customers had to be referred by existing ones. In Taiwan, a similar syndicate offers one free “service” for every 10 visits.
