These 3 movies are supposed to be a trilogy. I watched them recently in reverse chronological order and here's what I think of them>>>>

Vengeance (2009) - It was great until the smlj garbage dump gun fight scene, probably pandering to the ang moh critics.
It went downhill thereafter and it's a wee bit similar to Exiled.

Exiled (2006) - Best of the lot. A class act.
In the end the whore gets the dough. Johnnie must have a thing against women.

The Mission (1999)
- This one should be the best but it was a pre-2000 production and Anthony Wong has chubby cheeks! :(
The first hour of the show is just a mere set-up for the finale. Like they always said - the show hasn't even started yet....

And finally, watch out for Blind Detective in 2013. ;)

Do you have the first and last installment in Chinese? Not sure if I have watched before.
Exiled was great....especially the part they were hiking and came across the gold trail...Ritchie Ren's character almost spoilt the show.

Hi MCH, welcome back, I thought u had gone off to get married and have babies, per instructions. :o

1. Is the Blind Detective a sequel to Mad Detective?

2. Watched The Mission and Exiled. The former has one of the best gunfight scenes I've ever seen in the movies, comparable to hollywood movies.
It took place at a deserted shopping mall, probably in the early hours of the morning.

You should be able to watch them in Mandarin or Canto on those PRC movie streaming sites.

I too like the way they found the gold trail via random coin tosses. As for Ritchie Ren, his character was quite cool and not exactly a spoilsport.

LOL!

1. According to Wiki, Blind Detective will reunite Johnnie, Andy and Sammi. So I guess it's more commercial than MD and in time for the CNY slot.

2. You should go watch Vengeance to complete the trilogy then. Vengeance was nicely poised for a climax until that dreadful scene I mentioned earlier. You may disagree with me though.
