A Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and Toyota cars worth about HK$1 million in total were stolen from a Hong Kong car park in the early hours of this morning, according to police.

Police are searching for three men in connection with the case after they were filmed by surveillance cameras during the pre-dawn raid at the ground-floor car park of Yau Luen Apartments in Tai Po Road, Sham Shui Po.

Car park staff called police shortly before 5.30am after finding the three vehicles missing.

Initial investigation showed the three suspects pried open a safe in the office of the car park, stole three sets of car keys along with HK$3,000, and drove the vehicles away, police said.

The second suspect was wearing a blue shirt and carrying a shoulder bag, while the third man was wearing a cap and a white long-sleeved shirt.

Police are treating the case as “theft” and “taking conveyance without authority”. Detectives from Sham Shui Po police district are investigating. So far, no one has been arrested.
