The white teenager's Republican group (wearing Trump's signature red MAGA caps) was there for an Anti-Abortion March (protesting against Democrats' pro-abortion policies). The native Americans were there for an Indigenous Peoples March (protesting against Trump's shutdown which adversely affected them). In the USA where marches (ie. protest rallies) are common, it's not unexpected that 2 separate protest rally marches often physically clash into each other, resulting in confrontation and even violence.
What's interesting about this particular incident, is that while the entire world (ie. social media) is looking at this white teenager vs the native American, it turns out that there was a sinister 3rd group present, the religiously fanatical Black Hebrew Israelites, who attacked (ie. hurled insults and profanities at) *both* the white teenager's Republican Anti-Abortion March (who attacked them back), as well as the native Americans' Indigenous Peoples March (who exercised restraint).
Interesting stuff, that you won't see in Singapore, as protest rallies are illegal here and are a chargeable offence.
