Friday 9th July, 2010
US scientists have claimed to have discovered antibodies that neutralise most strains of AIDS.
HIV-positive patients have been tested by medical researchers from the United States, who have said their discovery involves two powerful antibodies that render neutral more than 90 percent of all known strains of HIV.
The tests, done in laboratory conditions, have been reported in the July 9th issue of the journal "Science."
The team of scientists, led by the National Institutes of Health, discovered that the antibodies allowd them to advance the design of an HIV vaccine.
