The kinds of help we need are:
Polling Agents
1. Polling Agents will be seated at the polling stations on Polling Day.
2. You will be ensuring that polling is done properly at the polling station.
3. You will help to ensure that the elections officials follow the rules.
4. You will seal the ballot boxes after polling finishes.
Commitment: Starts from 0745h in the morning of Polling Day. Depending on the number of helpers, the Polling Agents may be scheduled for half-day shifts (morning or afternoon). We will try to allocate you a polling station near your home. We will organise a briefing session for you before Polling Day.
Counting Agents
1. Counting Agents will be in the Counting Centres on the night of Polling Day to ensure that the election officials count the ballot papers according to the rules.
2. The NSP candidates and counting agents will be there with you.
3. You will be the rare ones allowed to witness the opening of the ballot boxes, the physical counting of the votes, and the sealing of the ballot papers in the boxes after counting!
4. Being a Counting Agent is the best way to see for yourself that your vote is secret!
Commitment: Starts from 2000h on the night of Polling Day till late. We will organise a briefing session for you before Polling Day.
Campaign Helper
Some are at the front with our candidates, dealing with the voting public. You can help by:
1. reaching out to the voters during walkabouts
2. handing out flyers
3. selling NSP publications and merchandise to raise funds at rallies
4. spreading our campaign messages
Others are at are the back room, dealing with organisation and logistics. You can help by:
1. helping to organise and set up rally sites
2. putting up posters and banners
3. delivering campaign pamphlets
4. editing and managing audio and video
Commitment: Up to you. It can be as little as 1-2 hours, one-off, or as much as the full campaign period. A coordinator will discuss with you how much time you wish to offer and work out arrangements to suit you.
