UN Watch director Hillel Neuer today called on UNRWA commissioner-general Philippe Lazzarini to condemn his former UNRWA staff union chief, Suhail al-Hindi, now a Hamas spokesman operating from Turkey, for calling on “every Muslim” worldwide “to rise up” and join the “resistance,” which for Hamas means violence and terrorism. The comments were made in an interview with AlAraby TV yesterday.
Though UNRWA was forced to remove al-Hindi in 2017—after the agency first lied and denied his terror ties—their former teacher and school principal is still closely involved with UNRWA, seen in June 2023 granting an Islamic award to his UNRWA staff union chief successor Amir al-Mishal.

Ruwaida Abou Eid, AlAraby TV: “Mr. Suhail, how will you respond now?”
Suhail al-Hindi, Hamas Politburo Member & former UNRWA School Principal & UNRWA Staff Union Chair:
“I believe the [battle]field speaks on this issue. We are not talking. What is required first in the West Bank, is for the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and the occupied interior [Israel] must rise up for Palestine, for Gaza, and for the children of Gaza. What is required is for the Arab nation to rise up, from the Persian Gulf to the Atlantic, for Gaza and for the West Bank.”
“What is required is for every Muslim to rise up for Palestine and for Gaza. What is required is for every free person to stand with this sacred cause.”
“Slogans of condemnation and slogans of denunciation are not enough. We must stand and be shoulder to shoulder with our kinfolks and our people.”
“Therefore, what is required of us all is to join the resistance in order to deter and prevent the occupation from shedding more blood against our Palestinian people and our Palestinian resistance.”
