A Vietnamese woman scolded a Singaporean couple on a flight for a full hour, before exposing her bra to complain that she was molested.
The incident involved Mr Yang Zheng Ji (37, project executive), who was returning to Singapore after a seven-day vacation with his wife and his friend Mr Cai De Guang (37, technician), who also brought along his wife and family.
The two families of six people were on a Tiger Airways flight at 3pm last Saturday (17 Mar) when they encountered the Viet woman, who was around 30 years old and said to be studying at a private university in Singapore.
Mr Yang had bumped into the seat in front of him, where the Viet woman and her mother were seated.
The Viet woman became very angry and started hurling abuse at Mr Yang and his wife – for one full hour.
The Yangs ignored the woman and did not respond as she scolded them in a mixture of Vietnamese and English, including calling them "crazy".
"She also started shifting her seat up and down repeatedly", said Mrs Yang.
When the flight landed at 5.20pm, Mr Yang went over to the Viet woman and told her that they could go to the police if she remained upset over the incident.
In response, the Viet woman launched another abusive tirade.
She grabbed her hand luggage and tried to use it to hit Mr Yang, according to Mr Cai.
"I tried to block her attack (on Yang), but she got even angrier and turned to attack me. She used her sharp nails and scratched my face and right arm" said Mr Cai.
She also pushed Mr Cai on his chest in the explosive confrontation which took place while all the passengers were alighting from the plane.
The Viet woman's shouts quickly attracted the attention of the airport police on the tarmac.
The two men, with their families in tow, followed the Viet woman to speak with the airport police.
To the officers, the woman ripped open her top to expose her bra and complained that she was molested by Mr Cai.
She also claimed that the two men had hit her mother.
Feeling wronged, Mr Cai called the police, who arrived to mediate between the two parties.
On the incident, Mr Cai added that the plane was packed with passengers, but only a Malay woman and a Caucasian woman had stepped forward to help.
The Malay woman had raised her hand to help stop the Viet woman when she pushed Mr Cai on his chest. In returned, she was also hit by the Viet woman.
The Caucasian woman helped to film the confrontation and has agreed to help Mr Cai and Mr Yang by being their witness.
