A man has been arrested in connection with the death of his wife.
The 38-year-old woman was found dead yesterday in a two-room-flat in Blk 441B, Fernvale Road. The deceased is Tang Shi Fang from Fujian, China. She is now a Singaporean citizen and works as a coffee shop assistant.
Tang lives with her unemployed 32-year-old Singaporean husband in their flat, which is in the Sengkang area. The couple has two children who do not live with them.
Tang's husband had reportedly notified the police that his wife had fainted at home. When police arrived, they found Tang in the bedroom, covered head to toe in bruises and already dead.
About six police cars were seen parked nearby with a large number of policemen and forensic personnel at the scene.
According to Tang's husband, the couple had a "very bad fight" the day before. Tang stands at 1.56m tall while her husband stands at 1.85m. Based on stature alone, Tang is no match for her husband and is believed to have sustained injuries in the fight which subsequently resulted in her death.
Tang's husband has been arrested in connection with the death. Police have classified the case as an unnatural death and are investigating.
