A heavily pregnant former guest relations officer claimed her unborn baby had been “reserved” for RM22,000 by a childless couple.
Harian Metro said that the woman, known only as Suzie, was approached by the couple when she was five months’ pregnant.
“I love my baby but I have to sell it due to the high living expenses in the city. “I cannot afford to bring up the child when it is born,” the 22-year-old woman was quoted as saying.
Suzie, who was met by reporters from the daily in early November, has since sought refuge at the Rumah Kebajikan Wanita dan Remaja in Gombak.
The paper reported that Suzie will deliver her baby at the centre and spend her confinement there.
