Fire were very frequent in our old old days in which we lived in villages and wooden houses in poor messy and horrible conditions. The PAP used to be highly credited for HDB flats that improved standard of living. But not any more as things regressed backwards and poor peasants got chased out of HDB flats to live in void decks and parks.

The news of HDB flat fire came non-stop ultra frequently. Today we got yet another case. These are using non-arson, but poor peasants messy and horrible conditions within their HDB pigeon holes, which can REALLY be worst than wooden village huts INSIDE these flats. They are using unsafe poor old electrical appliances, gas stoves etc and have dirty oily messy junk-piles at home. They have absolutely no fire safety.

These are mostly elder or senior citizens.

Today also found senior citizens dead in MRT toilet as well as coffee shop tables, uniquely SG!

Man falls from 2nd—storey unit while escaping fire at Serangoon Central

SINGAPORE: A man fell from the second storey of Block 205, Serangoon Central while escaping a fire in his unit on Friday afternoon.

The fire started in the bedroom at about 12.50pm and soon spread to the living room, destroying contents in both rooms.

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers arrived within minutes and extinguished the fire.

Eyewitnesses told MediaCorp they saw a middle—aged man climbing out of the kitchen window to escape the fire.

He ignored warning from neighbours and proceeded to lie down on bamboo poles used to hang—dry clothes.

The poles could not hold his weight and he plunged to the ground.

Paramedics found him conscious with some injuries and rushed him to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

PAP falsehood made the OUTSIDE of HDB flats look very nice and impressive. What people don't see is the conditions INSIDE.

Just like PAP.

Nice outside rotten inside.

This story reminds me of an incident sometime ago....... I used to see a PRC ah pek around the vicinity of my workplace collecting discarded furniture and pieces of wood.... out of curiuosity....... I followed him to see what he does with those wooden material....... soon we reached a unit in a nearby HDB block........ KNN the PRC family inside were cooking using a stove & using the pieces of wood to feed the fire !

I reported them to the NPC, SCDF and Town Council :p

smoking and unattended cooking are the main causes of domestic fires

the red rhino gonna get busy and rush to the scene just because some dumb fuck fell asleep with ciggy in hand

smokers are also the cause of many social problems

That cannot be true. PM Lee said in his National Day Rally speech that we have left that way of living behind many many years ago. Maybe the FTs are trying to create more jobs for firemen?

It worrying......there are many 'terrorists' in the making, whose minds have gone warped, stressed out by a very high cost of living & high cost of maintaining a corruption free government.

It is worrying...you do not know, the neighbour you greet everyday, suddenly decides to burn or blow his flat, & take yours along too....

worrying...

will fire insurance cover such "incidents"?

anyone pls enlighten.thanx.

Your compulsory HDB insurance will only cover the structure...your beautiful interior, inlcuding your HT etc...is not covered, unless you purchase another FIRE INSURANCE.

If your normal neighbour, becomes AB-normal, and decides to be a terrorist, what can we do..it alreadt happened...

but if one does not have a house fire insurance...say bye bye to your beautiful designer home....

Let me get this correct.

I have a FIRE Insurance (not HDB Fire Ins) for my place. In the event my downstair/upstair neighbors goes ballistic & starts torching his place, my unit will also be affected.
Will the Fire Insurance covers the damages caused by my fiery neighbor?

Should cover...it is a fire insurance...you did not start the fire! unless they can find evidence that you are in cahoots with your neighbour...
