A violent thug stamped on a man's head during the Middlesbrough riots.

Ameer Khalile was captured on CCTV footage attacking the man during the violence in the town on Sunday, August 4. The 25-year-old was part of a group of men that were making chants as they ran down the street and targeted the victim.

Footage of Khalile was played to the court, saw him stamping on the man’s head. The victim can then be seen falling face down into a ditch. After running away, the Stockton man was then seen to punch a man and kick at the door of a pub.

Following a police appeal for information to identify people involved in the disorder, Khalile, of Limerick Avenue in Stockton, was arrested at his home address as part of a day of action run by a dedicated team of detectives from Cleveland Police ’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET).

He pleaded guilty to violent disorder and attempted GBH with intent at an earlier hearing. Khalile was sentenced to two years and 10 months behind bars at Teesside Crown Court on Monday, December 9 for the "vicious" attack.
