Taipei, Aug. 22 (CNA) Local airlines said Saturday that some of their flights had been disrupted due to Typhoon Goni, and more cancellations and delays could be expected Sunday.

As of 5 p.m. Saturday, 41 domestic flights and two international flights had been canceled, while two domestic flights and three international flights were delayed, according to the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA).

Strong winds and heavy rains were already buffeting eastern Taiwan and were expected to continue into Sunday, causing further flight disruptions.

Uni Air said it had canceled its return flight B7-853/B7-854 between Taipei and Taitung, and flight B7-881 from Taipei to Kinmen.

Mandarin Airlines said its flights AE391/392/395/396 between Taipei and Taitung, and flights AE7931/7932 between Kaohsiung and Hualien will be canceled.

China Airlines said two of its Taoyuan-Okinawa flights will depart ahead of schedule -- CI122/123 on Sunday and CI120/121 on Monday.

Meanwhile, all TransAsia Airways domestic flights scheduled to depart from Taipei Songshan Airport between midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday have been canceled, according to the airline.

All of its domestic flights to and from Hualien in eastern Taiwan have also been canceled, it said.
