SINGAPORE — A 92-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man were found dead in their Tampines flat on Saturday morning (Oct 22).
The police had received a call for assistance at Block 285 Tampines Street 22 at about 11.56am on Saturday, they said in response to queries from TODAY.
“A 70-year-old man and a 92-year-old woman were found lying motionless inside a residential unit and were pronounced dead at scene,” said the police.
“Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.”
Investigations are ongoing, they added.
According to The Straits Times, the duo were mother and son, and they lived on the 11th floor.
Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News reported that neighbours had detected a foul stench from the flat about a week ago.
Earlier in April, a 34-year-old woman was found dead in her condominium apartment after neighbours reported a foul smell, prompting the condo manager to call the police.
Investigations later revealed she had died a week before that.
