China yesterday celebrated the 70th anniversary of its founding with a military parade that involved some 15,000 soldiers.
As troops marched across Beijing's Tiananmen Square in unison, one servicewoman stood out from the crowd.
Gao Yuan, an entertainment soldier of People's Liberation Army (PLA), has stunned millions in the country after being captured on camera during the ceremony.

Thousands of Chinese web users begged for details about the soldier after seeing a photo of her on Twitter-style Weibo.
One blogger
wrote:
'This female soldier is full of spirit and energy and fully displays the confidence of modern-time troops.'
Another fan gushed:
'The most beautiful female soldier in the National Day parade.'
Celebrities also shared her image to praise her beauty.
Li Xiang, a renowned anchor, exclaimed 'how pretty' after re-posting Gao's photo on her Weibo to her 24.6 million followers.
Ms Gao, from eastern China's Shandong Province, is a conductor and the deputy director at the female military ensemble at PLA National Defence University.
She was part of the Joint PLA Music Ensemble that performed in Tiananmen Square yesterday
The ensemble performed 56 titles over four hours for the National Day parade in the capital
She first rose to fame after participating in China's Victory Day parade in 2015 to mark the 70th anniversary of the country's victory over Japan in World War II.
The performer is one of the first female musicians for PLA, the world's largest army with two million members.
'I was able to attend the Victory Day parade in Tiananmen Square as one of the first female musician soldier and an assistant conductor, I feel extremely honoured and proud,' Ms Gao told state broadcaster CCTV at the time.

She was branded as 'the conductor of smiles' by Chinese media after the march four years ago.
'Some people have asked me why I smile all the time, on one hand it is part of our training, on the other hand it is a natural revelation of my sense of honour and pride [for serving my country],' she added.
