SINGAPORE: Police have arrested two Thai nationals, age 34 and 37, who are believed to have stolen copper wires from a construction site along West Coast Highway.
In a statement, police said that early Friday morning, officers from Clementi Police Division were on patrol when they spotted two male subjects with 3 bags behaving suspiciously at the side of the road.
Before the duo could leave in a taxi, the officers swiftly stopped them for an interview. Upon checking, the officers found that the bags contained copper wire.
The suspects could not give a satisfactory account of the items when questioned.
They were placed under arrest for theft and the 3 bags of copper wire were seized as case exhibits.
