SINGAPORE: Police have arrested two men for suspected loanshark harassment.
The suspects, aged 27 and 29, were detained in Pasir Ris Close on Tuesday.
Police said they received several reports of loan shark harassment in the vicinity of Ghim Moh and Dover Road housing estates since December.
They said the suspects would splash paint and scribble loan shark-related graffiti on the walls of debtors' homes.
Police seized items such as paper with debtors' records, cans of paint, marker pens and a bicycle chain.
Police believe the suspects were responsible for several cases of loan shark harassment in Clementi, Ghim Moh, Dover Road, Jurong, Woodlands, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Sengkang and Bedok.
Both suspects will be charged in court on Thursday.
In a separate case, Police arrested a 50-year-old man for failing to report the change of his residential address when he moved house.
The suspect had used his previous residential address to obtain loans from illegal moneylenders, causing the new owners to be harassed by loan sharks.
The suspect, who is believed to be a debtor to the illegal moneylenders, was arrested at Hougang Avenue 9 on Wednesday.
Police are continuing with investigations against the suspect.
