KOTA TINGGI: Two Singaporeans died and another was injured when their car became sandwiched between a bus and a lorry.

The victims, who were in their Nissan Sentra, were driving to Johor Baru along the KM35.6 Johor Baru-Mersing road when the driver is believed to have lost control and swerved the car into the opposite direction before crashing into a bus.

A lorry then rammed into the back of the victims' vehicle when the lorry driver tried to swerve to avoid the wreckage.

Singaporean driver Lim Tow Kwan, 53, died on the spot while his female backseat passenger Lim Lan Fang, 55, died while on the way to the hospital after the 1.30pm incident on Saturday.

Another female Singaporean Lek Lang Eng, 49, suffered multiple injuries from the accident.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Osman Mohamed Sebot said that Lek has been sent to Kota Tinggi Hospital for treatment.

"No other injuries were reported during the incident and we are still investigating the matter," he said adding that, the case has been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act.
